5.3 Forming the workpiece
5.3.1 Prerequisites
Prerequisites for a correct forming process:
•
The die system and the workpiece match each other.
•
The proper jaw system is correctly mounted in the tool.
•
The forming dimension and the dies have been entered in the
control system, please also refer to "Setting the forming dimen-
sion" in Section 5.
•
Preferably form the workpiece in the centre of the crimping die
length. Eccentric forming leads to a conical forming result and
an increased one-sided wear of the die system and the bearing
plates.
