Crimping tool
Crimping tool: Check for damage and wear.

Retaining bolt: Check for damage.

Slide bearing plates: Check for wear (see
“Checking and replacing slide bearing plates” in Sec-
tion 6).

Pressure springs between base dies: Check for da-
mage.

Guiding plates: Check for wear (visible grooves, une-
venness).

Hexagon socket screws in the base dies: retighten
after 1,000 crimping cycles for the first time; subse-
quently retighten after 50,000 crimping cycles, each
(HM 2xx M5, tightening torque MA = 8 Nm).

Check all bolted connections for secure fitting and
retighten if necessary.

Complete crimping tool: overhaul after 150,000 crim-
ping cycles.
Only in case of extreme loads when insulators, struc-
tural steel as well as steel ropes (PFC applications)
are pressure-joined.
