Heat exchanger disassembly and replacement:
Before you start any activities perform actions shown on
figures 3 to 5 (Insulation removal) and secure, that all shut
off valves are closed and substations
is drained and cooled down.
Attention: Risk of burns!
To remove the heat exchanger, you need to remove first
the 4 nuts /couplings and then the external Seeger-Ring
with special Pliers (this tool is not provided with the
substation) like visible in drawing 6.
Loosen now the pipes/fittings from the Heat exchanger
connections with a suitable tool (wrench etc.); using of pipe
pliers should be avoided, because the
nuts can be destroyed.
After loosening the 4 couplings, the Heat exchanger (HEL)
can be moved to the side (to the right)
as shown in picture 7.
The re-assembly takes place after cleaning the device or
exchange in reverse order. We recommend replacing the 4
gaskets G1 “ at the connections.
Pay attention to suitable seal types, especially materials at
the drinking water connection need to
be comply with applicable regulations and norms
(e.g. KTW / W270 / Elastomer Guideline).
Recommended types of seals:
Heating side: KLINGER®top-sil-ML1, Multilayer 30 × 23mm
(torque 30 .. 40 Nm)
Domestic water side: EPDM A-KT 90-00, 30 × 23mm
(torque 25 .. 30 Nm)
