4.32.2 Cavity Temperature Sensor Connections
The Cavity Temperature sensor is located behind the Backplane. Refer to "Figure 4-298 Cavity
Temperature Sensor Removal" on page 233.
The Cavity Temperature Sensor is connected to the J23 connector on the Backplane. Refer to "Figure
4-265 Backplane Connections" on page 208.
4.32.3 Cavity Temperature Sensor Verification
1. Isolate compressor power as described in Section "1.8 Electrical Isolation" on page 19.
2. Remove the Service Side Cover, verifying the LEDs on the Backplane have turned off.
3. Disconnect the Cavity Temperature Sensor Cable, J23, from the Backplane.
4. Set multimeter for resistance measurements.
5. Measure the resistance between the Cavity Temperature Sensor terminals 1 and 3. Refer to
"Figure 4-296 Cavity Temperature Sensor Terminal".
• The Cavity Temperature Sensor is a 10KΩ @ 77°F (25°C) NTC thermistor. The resistance
value should correspond to the chart in "Figure 4-297 Temperature vs. Resistance".
6. Measure the resistance of the Cavity Temperature Sensor terminals 1 and 3 to ground.
• The resistance value should be open or infinite.
7. Install the Service Side Cover. Refer to "4.2.3.1 Service Side Cover Removal and Installation" on
8. Install the top covers. Refer to "4.2 Compressor Covers" on page 56.
9. Return the compressor to normal operation.
