Anchoring the Wheel Balancing Machine
The Wheel Balancing Machine has three openings for anchoring. Anchoring ensures it will not move
during operation. Three M8 x 100 Expansion Anchors are included in the accessory kit with the
Balancer.
The M8 x 100 Expansion Anchors (sometimes called Wedge Anchors) mentioned in the following
procedure are supplied with the Wheel Balancing Machine.
To anchor the Wheel Balancing Machine:
1.
Make sure you are wearing OSHA-approved (publication 3151) Personal Protective Equipment: leather
gloves, steel-toed work boots, back belts, hearing protection, and ANSI-approved eye protection
(safety glasses, face shield, or goggles).
2.
Make sure the Wheel Balancing Machine is in the desired location.
3.
Using the holes as guides, drill the holes for the Anchor Bolts.
Go in straight; do not let the drill wobble. Use a carbide-tipped masonry drill bit (conforming to
ANSI B212.15).
Use a drill bit that is the same diameter as the Anchor Bolt. So, if you are using an 3/8 in diameter
Anchor Bolt, for example, use a 3/8 in diameter drill bit.
