2.6.1.1 Hazards
caused
by hydraulic oil, engine oil and petrol
When working in the area of hydraulic supply lines, danger can result from
– suddenly escaping hydraulic oil,
– contact with harmful hydraulic oil.
Only perform work on the hydraulics
– if the device has been separated from the power supply in advance
.
– if the hydraulic hoses are not pressurised.
– Note that even if the hydraulic supply is deactivated, there still
may be danger arising from any hydraulic oil remaining
in the hoses and which may be pressurised.
Regularly check that the hydraulic hoses and their connections are intact.
Use appropriate personal protective gear for all work.
If you have swallowed or inhaled hydraulic oil,
–
seek medical treatment immediately. Inform the doctor of emergency
measures recommended by the hydraulic oil manufacturer.
– If you have got hydraulic oil in your eyes, on your skin or clothing,
– take
the
recommended
emergency
measures,
– contact a doctor immediately.

maintenance unit for information relating to the dangers of lubrication oil and
petrol.
