Operation of Fan
When the system is turned on, the fan(s) will start running and must run for a full
minute before any temperature or humidity control functions will begin.
Note on mini-dap4:
The fan can be set to
“Automatic” mode. This allows to fan
to turn off until there is a need for temperature or humidity control.
Fan Speed:
Modulation of plug fan speed is based on the CW and DX mode selection. (Note:
selections are limited based on the unit model).
Constant Speed:
Fan runs at a constant speed setting and is not
modulated. The percentage setting is based on 10 volts, so a setting of 70%
would send 7.0 volts to the fan.
BMS Speed:
Fan begins at the constant speed setting then modulates
according to a BMS value. The BMS value is restricted to be inside the
minimum and maximum speed settings. Should the BMS write a value
outside these limits, it will be overwritten with the value of the limit.
Vlv Pos Speed:
Fan modulates based on the position of the CW valve.
Air Pressure:
Fan modulates to maintain the static air pressure set point.
Const Flow:
Fan modulates to maintain the airflow set point.
BMS Flow:
Fan modulates to maintain the airflow setpoint of the BMS.
Vlv Pos Flow:
Fan modulates proportionally to the CW valve position.
Return Air T.:
Fan modulates to return air temperature to maintain temp set
point. Modulation is proportional and will be at the minimum speed setting
when temperature is at setpoint. It will reach the maximum speed setting
when temperature rises above se de 1°.
Mod to Rack:
Fan modulates to rack temperature to maintain temperature
set point. The rack temperature can be based on the highest sensor or the
average of sensors. Modulation is proportional and will be at minimum
speed setting when temperature is at setpoint. It will reach maximum speed
setting when temperature is above se de 1°.
Mod to Comp:
Fan modulates proportionally to the variable compressor
speed. Modulation is scaled between the minimum and maximum fan speed
settings.
Mod to Ret T:
(Shown only on IRDX model). Fan will modulate to the return
air temperature to maintain the fan temperature set point. Modulation is
proportional and will be at minimum speed setting when temperature is at
se deadband. It will reach the maximum speed setting when
temperature is above se de 1°.
