Clean the Printer
The cleaning sleeve removes dust and particles from cards before they enter the printer.
However, you also need to clean the inside of the printer on a regular schedule to maintain print
quality. The cleaning cards remove debris from the inside of the printer and from the hopper
rollers.
Two different cleaning cards are available to clean the printer:
Use the double-sided, sticky cleaning card to clean the printhead cam rollers and the printer.
The sticky cleaning card removes particles that result from the retransfer process from the
inside of the printer. You can use the card each time you change the ink ribbon, or at any time
if you notice diminished print quality, such as a repeating pattern of spots on the card.
Use the sticky cleaning card to do the following:
Clean the Printhead Cam Rollers
Clean the Inside of the Printer
Use the double-sided, isopropanol-coated cleaning card to further clean the printer, if
necessary, after using the sticky cleaning card. An isopropanol-coated cleaning card is
included in each ink ribbon package.
Clean the printer:
Each time you install a new roll of ink ribbon. Refer to

After every 500 cards processed.

If you notice particles on completed cards, or if print quality diminishes.
You might need to run a cleaning card more often depending on your environment.
Keep additional cleaning supplies on hand to clean the printer when needed. Refer
to the printer’s Installation and Administrator’s Guide to order additional cleaning
cards.
