Additional information
5.14.7.1. Startup time of the camera module
Due to the start time of the module and the internal configuration of
the camera the camera is available about 90 seconds after the device
startup. Trying to take a photo before the camera startup is compled
will result in no image being recorded
– the input process may be used
despite that and will create a data record.
To start the camera, a setup is required.
After the camera’s startup phase, it will not be restarted when transfer-
ring a new setup. Should you send a new setup during the camera’s
startup phase, the camera
’s startup process will be restarted.
You can use the device’s BIOS menu to detect that the startup phase
is completed. As long as the camera is in startup, the menu will con-
tain “Please wait…” instead of the configuration options.
5.14.7.2. Recommendation for placing the field function in the setup
We recommend to place the field function for taking a picture directly
after the field function “Normal” that reads e.g. the transponder. At this
point of time we have the highest probability that the person identified
is still directly in front of the terminal and thus on the picture taken.
5.14.7.3. Availability of camera images
Camera images are stored in the internal flash memory or the SD
Card inserted into the device. If a new setup is sent to the device, the
images stored will be erased. We recommend to download the images
from the camera device before sending a new setup to the device. A
corresponding message is shown in the DatafoxStudio when transfer-
ring a new setup.
!
Attention:
The images stored on a device are erased when transfering a setup to the device.
