8500 Scanner
Aux Port Mode
Selects the usage for the scanner’s optional auxiliary port. The choices
listed below are mutually exclusive (only one option can be active at a
time).
•
Disabled — Port is inactive
•
External Handheld Input — Supports Datalogic
TM
handheld
scanners (QuickScan 1000, QuickScan 6000, PowerScan) as well
as other models such as the Symbol
®
HotShot. Call your dealer
for more information about supported devices.
•
PIR/CT — PIR (Productivity Index Reporting) allows the scan-
ner to provide information to an external computer indicating
how easy the label was to read. CT (Cashier Training) allows the
scanner to provide feedback to the cashier on how to scan in a
more ergonomic fashion.
To set this feature:
1. Scan the SWITCH barcode.
2. Scan your selection from the barcodes below. You’ll need to cover
any unused barcodes on this and the facing page to ensure that
the scanner reads only the barcode you intend to scan.
3. Complete the programming sequence by scanning the SWITCH
barcode.
