MATRIX 320
MAIN SERIAL INTERFACE
The signals relative to the following serial interface types are available on the CBX spring
clamp terminal blocks.
The main serial interface type and its parameters (baud rate, data bits, etc.) can be
defined by the user via DL.CODE software. For more details refer to the Help On Line
page of the Reading Phase step (Channels) in DL.CODE.
Details regarding the connections and use of the interfaces are given in the next para-
graphs.
RS232 Interface
The RS232 interface is generally used for Point-to-Point connections. When it is con-
nected to the host computer it allows transmission of code data.
The following pins are used for RS232 interface connection:
CBX100/500
Description
TX
Transmit Data
RX
Receive Data
SGND
Signal Ground
It is always advisable to use shielded cables. The overall maximum cable length must be
less than 15 m (49.2 ft).

CAUTION
Do not connect to the Main Interface spring clamp terminals if
using Host Interface Modules (Fieldbus) with the CBX500.
