2.6.2 

RS485 Bus Termination

Converter Mode

: In this case STAR-Box™ is connected to the Host and therefore

should be terminated as the first device on the network bus. Only jumper J1 should
be inserted to terminate the RS485 bus.

Repeater Mode

: In this case STAR-Box™ divides the RS485 network bus and

therefore should be terminated both as the last device and as the first device on the
network bus. Both jumpers J1 and J4 should be inserted to terminate the RS485 bus.
