ACCESS FROM LEVEL:
assigning PLU codes to direct keys
By this function, PLU codes can be assigned to direct “hot-shot” keys. In DSP500 keyboard
standard layout the direct keys are white and are numbered 1 to 99.
By using
07 KEYBOARD FUNCTIONS
, additional keys for direct PLU recall can be programmed,
up to 110 maximum.
The function
10 PLU EDIT
allows to program up to 3,045 different PLU ( programmable PLU may
vary, however, according to item description length and to other parameters). Each direct PLU is
identified by a numerical code, consisting of no. 1 up to 7 digits max.
Attention
:
Code number and hot shot key number
DO NOT
correspond; for example:
code no. 59238 might be assigned to hot key 27.
When entering the function, the following message is displayed:

Then press
<ENTER>
to access programming, and the following request is visualised:
0 0 P R E S S P L U K E Y
As one of the direct PLU keys is pressed, its corresponding PLU code shall be displayed as
follows:

= direct PLU key no.

= assigned PLU code (code length may vary from 1 up to 7 digits as pre-set (see at
Programming code

). If a fixed part of code has been defined you will have to
specify the variable part of it only.
For changing a code number digit the new PLU number through keyboard, and then confirm it by
pressing key
<ENTER>
.
KEY ERROR
If the message
KEY ERROR
is displayed, that means that the key just
pressed has been already assigned a function different from that of direct
PLU (see at Programming code
07 - KEYBOARD FUNCTION
).
Attention
:
Codes “1” and “2”
CANNOT
be assigned to direct PLU keys since they
are reserved to
WEIGHED ITEM RANDOM PRICE
and to
NON-
WEIGHED ITEM RANDOM PRICE
.
