Connecting the DI-710 to Ground
! IMPORTANT !
The ground connection on the I/O terminal strip should
always
be connected to a signal ground, if one is not inher-
ently made through analog or digital signal connections. Without this connection, the front end of the DI-710 does not
have a return path which could lead to inaccurate measurements. Under no circumstances should the DI-710 be used
in a measurement situation where it will experience common mode voltages in excess of ±30 VDC or peak AC (the
device’s full-scale range without damage).
The ground lug at the rear of the DI-710 should
always
be connected to a solid chassis or earth ground. This connec-
tion is mandatory for the unit to meet CE guidelines.
