Narration sounds too loud/soft
Note
: Volume controls are usually on each individual headset.
Enable XD20 self-play test “1K all channels” (
Setup
→
Audio
→
Audio Tests)
. Verify 300mV
RMS (
±
10mv) output at NARRATION OUT. If no output, replace the H222 board. If there is
output, refer to the transmitter manufacturer for test procedure.
Narration sounds distorted
1.
Enable the XD20 self-play test “1K all channels” (
Setup
→
Audio
→
Audio Tests)
. Verify that
there is 300mV RMS (±10mv) output at NARRATION OUT.
2.
Enable the XD20 self-play test
Buzz and Bill
and listen with the narration headsets.
3.
Try replacing the internal H222 board.
4.
Refer to the transmitter manufacturer for test procedures.
Noise in narration track
1.
Verify that the NARRATION OUT cables are not routed next to power lines, film projector
motors, or fluorescent lights.
2.
If there is RF interference, contact Datasat Digital Entertainment for ferrite bead suppressors that
attach to the audio output cables.
Narration is NOT playing in sync with the sound track or action on-screen
Go to the XD20
Setup
→
TC Reader Offset
menu to verify that the offset value has been correctly set.
