When playing SMPTE timecode the XD10 may select the reel number based on either the SMPTE
timecode hour value, or through a menu selection.

The reel number menu below is used to specify the reel number for SMPTE timecode. Valid reel numbers
are 1 through 15. Selecting Reel 0 will instruct the XD10 use the reel number from the Hours value in the
SMPTE timecode.

: The reel number must be selected to play shows longer than one hour.
4 Synchronization
The following should be considered for synchronization purposes:
The XD10 adds 6 seconds to the incoming SMPTE timecode. The XD10 will display the
timecode as 6 seconds ahead of the source timecode.
There is a 1 second delay for the audio played and the timecode displayed on the XD10.
Additional timing differences can be created by using the offset menu.
SMPTE Timecode Offset Menu
The menu below is used to offset the timecode and is only applied to SMPTE timecode. The format is
+/- [00:MM:SS:FF].
This allows a timecode offset to be set from -59:59:29 to +59:59:29.
The offset is in the frame rate that is being received. An offset of 29 frames will be converted to 24
frames for 25 fps timecode.
