WHAT TO DO BEFORE FIRST USE
• Use the toaster without bread several times with the toast
control selector at medium power in order to remove any
manufacturing residue. Some smoke may come out.
HOW TO USE
• Before using the appliance for the first time, check that it
is clean (see the “Maintenance and cleaning” section), as
it comes into direct contact with bread. Check that nothing
has entered the slot.
• Connect the appliance to a socket with earth connection.
• Place the slices of bread in the slot (for a baguette, cut a
slice shorter than the slot and then slice it in two lengthwise).
The appliance is designed for baguettes, and also for sliced
bread if their thickness and length are less than those of
the slot.
• Press the operating lever downwards until it stops (at the
same time the grill inside the slot will close around the
bread keeping it away from the heating elements). Then,
stop pressing and the lever will stay in the lower position,
which means the toasting process has begun. If the lever
rises immediately, check to see if the appliance is plugged
in, as it only stays down if the device is plugged in.
