5219 & 3812 Font Support
Canon LBP-4, LBP-8 and CaPSL
GFIDs are not mapped to specific fonts for these printers. Instead, a “character attribute”
method is used to determine which printer font will represent specific GFIDs. The driver will
examine the characteristics of the GFID font and will compare these characteristics to the fonts
available to your printer. It will then attempt to match the requirements of the GFID font as
closely as possible to one of the available fonts. Usually, an exact match of all characteristics
can be made; if an exact match cannot be made; the font with the closest match will be used.
This
Character attribute
method of font selection will be used for all GFIDs except those listed
below. For the fonts listed below, horizontal spacing will match the spacing received from the
host for monospace fonts.
Scalable Font Selection and Character Set Rotation must be Enabled using the FONT/FEED
menu on the printer. The BM-3 Font Card is strongly recommended.
