Connecting an External Microphone (Optional)
All Deep Trekker DVR Kits are shipped with an RCA cable with composite video connector (yellow). To
only record the video captured by the ROV camera, use the composite video connector (yellow) to
connect the DVR to the Deep Trekker controller.
To record voice-overs directly to your
inspections, you will need an RCA cable
with an incorporated microphone.
(Available from Deep Trekker)
Using the microphone-RCA cable,
connect the video connector to the Deep
Trekker controller as per step 3. The
integrated microphone can be clipped or
held. Speak into the microphone
normally.
Recording voice notes during the inspection saves you from re-watching the video and adding in
comments afterwards. The SD card can also act as a final product of documentation of your entire dive
for your customer.
