Manual DEHLER 39
69 - 72
13. Final remarks and indications
This manual complies with the guidelines of the harmonised European Standard EN 10240.
Many of these guidelines will seem natural to you. Nothwithstanding, we hope that your
undrstanding of the different chapters will help you to understand also the technical systems
and the idea behind their design and setup. As we already said in the introduction, the
purpose of the manual is a carefree use of the boat. One of the things the manual does not
deal with is the personal safety equipment.
This is a responsibility of the skipper. Of course there should be enough lifesaving equipment
for everybody on board. What also belongs to the personal safety equipment is a FM-radio or
mobile phone, a lifeboat, emergency signals, first-aid kits, relevant spare parts and repair
tools, etc...
Since the fire protection guideline is so important, we draw your attention to the fact that fire
extinguishers should be regularly maintained and that the skipper should inform the crew
about their working.
People who are well equipped for emergencies, often do not have any problems. But just in
case you find yourself in the midst of an emergency, be assured that your yacht is equipped
with the right aids. Finally, we’d like to give you some useful addresses:
