Removing the power supply unit
Before you begin
CAUTION
The X400 capacity cube needs one power supply unit (PSU) for normal operation.
Since the X400 capacity cube is a power-redundant system, remove and replace only one PSU
at a time in a X400 capacity cube that is powered on.

2. Identify the failed PSU by checking the Alerts and Events

Appliance tab in the
PowerProtect Data Manager UI. Note down the node ID (for example, Capacity cube 06).
Procedure
1. Disconnect the power cable from the power source and from the PSU you intend to remove,
and then remove the cable from the strap on the PSU handle.
2. Press and hold the orange release latch, and slide the PSU out of the X400 capacity cube by
using the PSU handle.

Before you begin

2. Ensure that both the PSUs are of the same type and have the same maximum output power.
Note:
The maximum output power (shown in watts) is listed on the PSU label.
Procedure
1. Slide the PSU into the X400 capacity cube until the PSU is fully seated and the release latch
snaps into place.
If you feel any restriction while sliding in the PSU, visually inspect the opening for any
obstructions such as a cable that may have slipped.
