MTU - Make a note of the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) size on the switch
ports. When you log in to the PowerProtect X400 configuration UI, the MTU size
on the switch ports must be greater than or equal to the MTU size settings in the
UI. The default MTU size in the configuration UI is 1500. As an example, if you
have jumbo frames with an MTU size of 9000 on the switch ports, you can change
the default 1500 MTU size setting in the configuration UI up to 9000.

Secure Remote Services (SRS) gateway myservice360 account
If you are going to register the X400 Appliance with Dell EMC Secure Remote
Services (SRS) so that Dell EMC support personnel can remotely connect to the
appliance to troubleshoot issues, you must have a Dell EMC Secure Remote Services
(SRS) gateway myservice360 account open and deployed. You can open a
myservice360 account
or your Dell EMC Sales representative can assist. SRS

Obtain the Dell EMC PowerProtect X400 license file
You only need to perform this license manual download procedure if the laptop you will
use to initially connect to the X400 Appliance will not have external internet
connectivity.
Before you begin
To obtain the license file (
.lic
) from the Dell EMC license management website, you
must have the License Authorization Code (LAC), which was emailed to you from Dell
EMC. If you have not received the LAC, contact your customer support
representative.
About this task
If the laptop you will use to initially connect to the X400 Appliance will have external
internet connectivity, the license file will automatically be downloaded to your laptop
