The PowerProtect X400 splash screen appears.
2. On the PowerProtect X400 splash screen, click Begin Setup.
The Initial PowerProtect X400 Configuration page appears.
3. On the Initial PowerProtect X400 Configuration page, read the prerequisites
and click Next.
The Admin Credentials page appears.
4. On the Admin Credentials page, perform the following actions:
a. In the Current Password field, specify the last nine digits of the appliance
serial number (SN). The appliance serial number is located on the white label
on the pull-out information tag in the front of the X400 platform cube. For
example, if the appliance serial number is APM00192023388, you would
enter 192023388 as the password.
b. In the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, specify an
administrative password.
This new password will be the password you will use to log in as the admin
user to the PowerProtect Data Manager UI after you finish configuring the
X400 Appliance in the PowerProtect X400 Appliance Configuration UI.
Ensure that the password meets the following requirements:
l
Minimum of nine characters and a maximum of one hundred characters
l
At least one numeric character (0-9)
l
At least one uppercase character (A-Z)
l
At least one lowercase character (a-z)
l
At least one special character from the following list of acceptable
characters:
!@#$%^&*()<>?
c. In the New Passphrase and Confirm Passphrase fields, specify a system
passphrase.
The system passphrase is used to protect secrets, such as encryption keys.
It is also used to access the file system.
The passphrase must meet the same requirements as listed above for the
password.
If you lose the passphrase, you cannot recover it.
d. Click Next.
A Passphrase Reminder dialog appears with the warning:
CAUTION
Ensure that you take note and remember the system
passphrase you have set. Failure to remember the system
passphrase will result in inability to access secrets
and data loss. Are you ready to continue the
installation?
