iSCSI and Fibre Channel

Storage Provisioning and Management

Create iSCSI interfaces and NAS servers

now, or configure these later.
•

Create iSCSI interfaces:

 If you plan on

providing hosts access to block-based
storage resources, create an iSCSI
interface.

Note:

Fibre Channel (FC) interfaces are

created automatically when the I/O module with FC ports is
added to the storage system.

•

Create NAS Server:

NAS servers enable data transfer and provide

the connection ports for hosts that access the file-based storage.
If you plan on provisioning file-based storage resources, create

relevant NAS servers now.

Next Generation VNXe – Initial Setup with

Configuration Wizards

Enter your EMC Online Support account username and
password. Entering these credentials gives you access to
your support options on the Support page.

Enable the following support options to enhance your support experience:

•

EMC Secure Remote Support (ESRS)

: Enable or disable ESRS. ESRS provides

an IP-based connection that enables EMC Support to receive error files and

alerts from the VNXe system. Enabling ESRS accelerates problem diagnosis,
optimizes troubleshooting, and helps decrease issue time-to-resolution.

•

ConnectEMC

: Enable or disable ConnectEMC. ConnectEMC sends encrypted

system alerts to the EMC Support Center, which helps mitigate performance
issues, improve high availability, and prevent data outages. Enabling
ConnectEMC helps decrease time in problem detection and resolution.
