Figure 11-6
is an example of a single range bulk configuration.
Example
Figure 11-6. Single Range Bulk Configuration
Figure 11-7
shows how to use commas to add different interface types to the range enabling all Ten
Gigabit Ethernet interfaces in the range 5/1 to 5/23 and both Ten Gigabit Ethernet interfaces 1/1 and
1/2.
Example
Figure 11-7. Multiple Range Bulk Configuration Gigabit Ethernet and Ten Gigabit
Ethernet
Figure 11-8
shows how to use commas to add VLAN and port-channel interfaces to the range.

Commands
interface range macro (define)
Defines a macro for an interface range and then saves the macro in the running configuration.
Syntax
define interface range macro
name interface
,
interface
,
...
Parameters
FTOS(conf)# interface range tengigabitethernet 5/1 - 23
FTOS(conf-if-range)# no shutdown
FTOS(conf-if-range)#
FTOS(conf-if)# interface range tengigabitethernet 5/1 - 23, tengigabitethernet 1/1 - 2
FTOS(conf-if-range)# no shutdown
FTOS(conf-if-range)#
FTOS(conf-if)# interface range tengigabitethernet 5/1 - 23, tengigabitethernet 1/1 – 2,
Vlan 2 – 100 , Port 1 – 25
FTOS(conf-if-range)# no shutdown
FTOS(conf-if-range)#
show config (from INTERFACE
RANGE mode)
Shows the bulk configuration interfaces.
show interfaces status
Displays a summary of interface information.
interface range macro (define)
Defines a macro for an interface-range.
name
Enter up to 16 characters for the macro name.
interface
,
interface
,
...
Enter the
interface
keyword (see below) and one of the interfaces slot/port,
port-channel or VLAN numbers. Select the range of interfaces for bulk
configuration. You can enter up to six comma separated ranges—spaces are
not
required between the commas. Comma-separated ranges can include
VLANs, port-channels and physical interfaces.
Slot/Port information must contain a space before and after the dash. For
example,
interface range tengigabitethernet 0/1 - 5
is valid;
interface range tengigabitethernet 0/1-5
is not valid.
•
For a 10-Gigabit Ethernet interface, enter the keyword
TenGigabitEthernet
followed by the slot/port information.
•
For a VLAN, enter the keyword
vlan
followed by a number from 1 to
4094.
