Automatic safety cut out

The heater is fitted with an automatic cut out to prevent any damage due to overheating. The heater will automatically cut out if the airflow is obstructed.

Never

cover the air inlets or outlets. To reset the fire, switch the fire off, remove the cause of overheating and allowed to cool for a suitable period then

switch the fire back on.

MAINTENANCE
Before any maintenance/cleaning is undertaken always disconnect the fire from the mains power supply.

Replacing light bulbs

Your fire uses clear 40watt bayonet light bulbs for the flame effect illumination. Replacements are available from good lighting/hardware or large DIY
stores.  To change the flame effect bulbs allow a suitable time for the bulbs to cool.  Open the front door (as described in

Controls

) remove then replace

the blown light bulb and close the door.  Please note that replacement bulbs are not covered by the guarantee of the product.

Changing Remote Control Frequency (default set to J)

The fire and remote transmitter will come pre set to A.  If for any reasons you need to change this, a dial on the back of the remote can be turned with
the aid of a flat head screwdriver to a range of frequencies marked A

G and so on through to P

.   The fire will also need to be changed

 to the

corresponding frequency set.  Carefully remove the fire from the fireplace and lie flat on it’s back.  Another dial will be visible on the base of the unit.  Set
to the same frequency as the remote and carefully put the fire back in its place.  See installation on removing and replacing the fire.

Changing battery in the remote

On the reverse side of the remote near the bottom is the access plate to the battery compartment.  Remove by placing your nail under the catch, push
and lift.  We only recommend an alkaline battery MN21 12 Volt.  Ensure battery is disposed of safely.  Do not dispose of in fire, do not swallow and keep
away from children.

Cleaning

The fire can be cleaned with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner.

WARNINGS

Do not use the fire in the vicinity of a bath shower or swimming pool.

Never use the fire to dry laundry.

Never install the fire directly underneath a fixed main socket.

Never cover the appliance during the operation of the fire.

The use of an extension lead is not recommended.

Particular caution should be applied to ensure that children do not play with the marbles/coal.

As with any electrical appliance whilst the instructions aim to cover as many eventualities as possible, caution and common sense should be
applied when operating your appliance, particularly in the vicinity of small children.

PROBLEM SOLVING

No power to the fire

Check the wall socket, plug and fuse.

No illumination

Make sure fire is turned on.  Check heater is working, if not see above.  If
         yes change the bulbs.

Illumination but no heat

The safety cut has operated see note on operating the Fire.

Loud humming noise when illuminated

Due to moving parts, the electric fire will make a noise. This may vary
slightly.  For a comparison it may be necessary to visit your local dealer.

Important:

your home is quieter than a busy store.

Noise from the heater when in use

Same as above.  As well as a slight humming noise the sound of rushing
air will be apparent.  Both are normal.

Remote will not work.

Check fire is in remote standby mode (see controls).
Check battery.
Make sure the grey frequency dial on the handset is set to

J

Thermostat will not cut in

First see note on operating the fire.  When turning the thermostat to
minimum you will hear a click.  There is a certain amount of play on turning
the wheel back to maximum. Try to judge this before another click turns
the heater back on.  The nearer the better for a more accurate temperature
reading.

Thermostat will not cut out

First see note on operating the fire.  The reverse of above.  However in
some cases the area around the fire may stay in the temperature range the
thermostat cuts in and out at.  This could be due to size or air circulation in
the room.
