5) Disconnect the instrument after having eventually started recording through the Start Recording
key: recording can also be started in auto mode with the date or in manual mode with the LOG
key on the instrument keyboard.
6) Before memory is completely full and without stopping recording, reconnect the instrument.
Start data dump (Dump Data on PC) : a window will appear asking if just new measurements
have to be dumped. Press OK to confirm.
7) Data will be dumped and displayed in table format after having been processed. The user will be
informed of any Overrun.
8) If you wish to go on recording, simply disconnect the instrument (Disconnect key) without stop-
ping recording.
9) Disconnect the serial cable.
When connecting next time, repeat the steps starting from point 6.
The quantity of available memory changes depending on the selected sampling interval and on
the number of channels to be stored: the Setup Time - Date card shows memory left space. Re-
member that, when in endless loop memory, after each data dump, the whole minidatalogger
memory is available again.
There are cases where it is important to control a variable and, only if it has exceeded the set limit, its
temporary trend in the last recording period will have to be checked. Suppose that, for example, you
have to control a fridge temperature and that the limit is fixed at –15°C. The instrument will go on
monitoring temperature and, only if an alarm will occur, you will check when did the alarm occur
and which are the temperature changes. You will then dump data to get a report of what happened.
On the contrary, that is, if no alarm occurs, the instrument will go on logging data. As the minidata-
logger memory is organized in a cyclic way, you do not need to delete old data to get new memory
space, because the most recent data cyclically replace the oldest ones.
