REPLACING THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT
In order to clean, position a pipe with an end bent by
approximately 90° on the end of a compressed-air
pistol. The pipe must be long enough to reach the
bottom of the filter element. Carefully blow out the
filter element with dry compressed air (maximum
5 bar (72.5 psi)) from the inside to the outside until
there is no more development of dust. The end of the
pipe must not touch the element.
Next carefully examine the element for possible
damage. Never beat or knock the element as this will
damage it and there will be a danger of damage to the
engine.
Carefully clean the inside of the housing and put the
element in the housing (see section
New elements must also be inspected for tears or
punctures before installation.
Discard the element (4) when damaged.
A dirty safety cartridge (3) is an indication of a mal-
functioning air filter element. In that case replace the
element and safety cartridge.
The safety cartridge cannot be cleaned.
1. Release the snap clips (1) and remove the dust trap
(2). Clean the trap.
2. Remove the element (4) and the safety cartridge.
3. Reassemble in reverse order of dismantling. Make
sure the vacuator valve (5) points down.
4. Inspect and tighten all air intake connections.
