Removing the rear wheel
Note and/or remember the cable layout as well as the
mounting points for the zip ties before removing the drive
wheel.
1. First of all, loosen and remove all zip ties which secure the cables from
the motor, as well as cables and lines for other components on the
bicycle frame.
2. Release the rim brake if fitted.
3. If a derailleur is installed, switch to the lowest pinion.
4. Loosen the through-axle using a 6 mm Allen key and remove the axle.
Hold the rear wheel firmly while doing this.
5. Dismount the torque arm and pull the plug out of the motor. You can
now completely remove the rear wheel.
Pay attention to the installation position of the torque arm.
When later reattaching the wheel, this must be installed in
the exactly same position as prior to removal.
Note that the motor comprises an additional weight, and as
a result, the rear wheel will be heavier than usual.
Replacing the rear wheel
1. Mount all the components removed from the wheel in accordance with
the instructions and specifications of the respective manufacturer.
WARNING
Make sure that all the components attached to the wheel are
installed in accordance with the instructions and specifications of the
respective manufacturer. This applies in particular to the brake and
gear shift.
2. Then lift the rear wheel into the frame. Before sliding it completely
into the frame mount (the drop-out), insert the motor plug into the
motor and place the torque arm on the spline.
PLEASE NOTE
Before plugging the motor plug into the motor, check both the plug
and socket for moisture.
Always use the pinion set originally provided by the cycle
manufacturer. Using any other brand can result in limited
functionality and/or abrasion on the rear of the pinion set.
WARNING
Never mount the motor without the torque arm. Doing this would
result in total loss (break-off of the cables). All warranty and
guarantee claims would be voided in this case.
