Quick Start Guide
Power & Terminal ON/OFF
To connect the Global Payments Cash Advance
– Desk/5000 to power:
1. Plug the power supply into the power port on the magic box kit
2. Plug the other end of the power supply into a surge protector attached to an electrical outlet
When the terminal is connected to the power supply, it will automatically power up, initiate an
application check and then enter the home screen. To power off the Global Payments Cash
Advance
– Desk/5000, simply disconnect the power supply from the electrical outlet.
Administrator ID & Password
Your terminal is pre-programmed with a default administrator ID name of
“1”
, please call the
Global Payments Customer Care at
1-800-599-6491
to set up your personalized admin password.
Performing a Cash Advance Transaction
1.
Tap the
Cash Advance
transaction icon on home screen
2.
Key in the amount and press
[Enter]
, the terminal displays
“Pass Terminal to Customer”
3.
The terminal displays
“$ Amount”
“Insert/Swipe”
, the cardholder presses
[1]-Yes/Oui
to
confirm the transaction amount.
Press [2]-No/Non
to cancel the transaction
4.
The cardholder enters their PIN
5.
The terminal connects with Global Payments
, and then displays “Pass Terminal to Merchant’’
6.
Once the transaction is complete, the merchant copy and the customer copy will printed
Performing a Void Cash Advance Transaction
1.
Tap
Void Cash Advance
transaction icon on home screen
2.
Enter the manager ID and password and press
[Enter]
3.
Select the search option you like to use to find the transaction. When found, press
[Green].
When terminal displays “Confirm Void”, press
[Yes]
4.
The terminal communicates with Global Payments. Once the transaction is complete, the
terminal will print receipt copies
Performing a Batch Close Advance Transaction
1.
Tap
the settlement
transaction icon on home screen
2.
Enter the manager ID and password and press
[Enter]
3.
Select
[1]-Yes
to close the current batch and then
[1-Accept]
4.
The terminal communicates with Global Payments to close the batch
5.
Once the transaction is complete, terminal prompts to print the settlement report, choose
[1]-
Yes
