Group Assignment
The Group Assignment entry permits the modification of the assignment of the
switch modules to switch groups.
Each switch module of a device has to be assigned to a group. As stated in chapter
5.1.4 the factory setting for the DEV 1953 is that each module slot is forming a
single group. This means, that initially there are sixteen groups with a single mem-
ber each, and that there is no functional difference between Individual switching
mode and Simultaneous switching mode. To utilize the advantages of simultaneous
switching the group assignment is to be altered. To change the assignment of one
or more switch modules using the Group Assignment entry make sure that the
device is in Local Mode and that Individual switching mode is activated. Then in the
assignment matrix select the row(s) of the desired module(s) and the column(s) of
the desired group(s) and click on the square(s). The background of the square(s)
becomes yellow:
