Error Indication
The indication of an error is realized via hardware, i.e. via LEDs (at the power supply
modules plus the "
Status
" LED) and additionally via software, i.e. via Web Interface
and/or via SNMP.
The hardware indication via LEDs is described in chapters 3.1.2 & 5.3. For the
indication via Web Interface please refer to chapters 5.4.3 & 5.4.5 and the
indication via SNMP is explained in chapters 5.5.4.1 & 5.5.4.4. The software error
indication (i.e. the error codes) is described in the following.
6.1
Software Error Indication
The device is capable to detect several types of errors that are reported to the
Web Interface and to the M&C system. Either the M&C system has to poll the
device for these errors or it is informed via an alarm trap, assuming that the specific
SNMP trap is enabled.
6.1.1
Power Errors
For the DEV 5072 chassis error indication is provided for
- "Output Sum Voltage Error":
this warning is reported if the measured output voltage deviates from
the defined output voltage (please refer to chapter 5.4.4)
- "Total Current Limit Error":
this warning is reported if the measured output current exceeds the
defined maximum output current (chapter 5.4.4)
In addition, there are several error codes for the installed 1…4 power supply
modules that are reported if the surveillance of the related power supply module is
enabled (chapter 5.4.4.1):
- "AC Line [i] Low Error":
if the input voltage of the module is not within specifications
- "Power Module [i] Error":
if there are e.g. communication problems with the module
- "Power Supply Temperature [i] Error":
if the power supply module was turned off due to the temperature of
the power supply module being too high
- "Output [i] Voltage Error":
if the output voltage of the power supply module exceeds the defined
output voltage
- "Power Supply Temperature [i] Alarm": this warning is reported if the temperature of power supply
module is too high
- "Power Supply [i] not present":
if a power supply module is detected as not present
- "Error PowerModule [i] OV Protection": if the overvoltage protection is activated
- "Key Matching Error [i]":
if the applied power supply module type is not supported
- "Nominal Voltage Error [i]":
if the power supply module type does not match the output voltage
configured for the DEV 5072 chassis
