It is recommended that sharpening of blades be performed by a

WALT factory service center. However, blade edges may be
sharpened by using a fine tooth file (16A).
1. Run trimmer until cutting

file. DO NOT file the guard
teeth.
2. Be sure the lock-off lever
is engaged, the blade has
stopped, and the battery
has been removed before
sharpening blade.
3. Wear proper eye protection and gloves, and be careful not to cut
yourself.
4. Carefully file the cutting edges of the blade with a fine tooth file.
File toward the cutting edge (16D) at the original cutting angle (38
degrees from horizontal). File only the straight cutting edges (16D)
of the blades. Do not file where the cutting edge curves into the
center of the blade.
5. Flip the trimmer over to sharpen the bottom blade.
6. Repeat steps to sharpen the opposite side of each blade.
