Troubleshooting
Symptom
Solution
The water flow of the geyser
has decreased
Check for debris in the inlet sieve and in the
outlet fittings (shower rose / kitchen spout
sieve)
The geyser is dead or the ignitors
are firing weakly / slowly
Replace the batteries
Water leaking from the geyser
Call a Dewhot Technician
The gas geyser wont switch on
Check the contact terminals in the battery
box for rust. Tip - Drill two 3-4 mm drain
holes in the battery box lid to stop any
moisture build up in the future.
The geyser has new batteries
and the water is flowing through
the geyser but does not ignite
properly
Disconnect the inlet (cold) & outlet (Hot)
water connection, check for debris in the
sieve and blow through the geyser to see if
it will ignite. If not, replace the water flow
sensor.
The unit ignites
but with a loud bang
Check the ignitors are firing correctly from
the end of the pins, they will normally be
corroded / carboned up and will need
cleaning or replacing.
Check that the ignitor wires and flame out
sensor are not brittle or shorting out. make
sure they are cleaned off.
