Power Plant

1.11.2
Engine type, coolant
The
engine
is a SOLO 2625 01 with electronic dual ignition and liquid
cooling. For further engine specifications refer to the engine manual, see sect.
0.4 of this manual.
The cooling circuit is equipped with an electric waterpump. The pump
operates with ignition on. If the glider electrics are switched off (master
switch) with running engine, the pump will still receive electric power from
the generator.
Coolant:
Commercially available anti-freeze for car engines (recommended:
BASF Glysantin G48 Protect Plus concentrate) and distilled water.
With coolant pump type Webasto:
mixing ratio 1:1 (up to approx. –40°C, -
40°F)
With coolant pump type Pierburtg (TN800/41):
Normal operation: mixing ratio 1:2 (up to approx. –20°C, -4°F).
Mixture may be changed for high altitude flying to mixing ratio 1:1 (up to
approx. –40°C, -40°F).

Caution:
If you don't operate the engine for periods longer than 2 months you
must preserve your engine according to the instructions in the engine manual. The
same applies for any overseas transportation.
1.11.3
Exhaust Muffler:
The muffler has been specially designed for the DG-800B and is attached by
four spring couplings in a movable frame, secured with Loctite 243.
