2.3.1
Dispenser
When a consumer initiates a withdrawal transaction, the dispenser removes bank
notes from the dispense cassettes, stacks them, transports them through the
dispenser (Figure 2-19), and
fi
nally presents the stack of notes to the consumer
through the dispenser slot in the fascia.
If a bank note is unacceptable (for example, it is too mutilated or crumpled) or
if multiple notes are withdrawn from the cassette at once (often referred to as
a "multiple pick"), the dispenser diverts the notes to the divert cassette instead
of presenting them to the consumer. The cash dispenser then reprocesses the
transaction and presents a stack of good bank notes to the consumer.
If the consumer fails to remove the bank notes when they are presented through
the slot, the notes are drawn back into the cash dispenser and dumped into the
divert cassette. The system is then ready for the next transaction.
Refer to the
ActivDispense Operating Guide
(TP-821761-001C) for more
information.
NOTE
In some software applications, it may be possible for the
dispensed media to remain in the presenter and be available to
the next consumer. Refer to the software documentation for
your cash dispenser for speci
fi
c details.
