Safety precaution

NOTE

Never pull out the head unit or the safe unit during operation, as this will immediately stop
the transport motors and possibly result in a note jam.

All components in the RM4 module are monitored by sensors. The system cannot be op-
erated if a component has not been inserted or closed correctly.

NOTE

Integrated safety switches turn off the head unit’s or safe unit’s drives as soon as the unit
concerned is pulled out of the device. This ensures that no rotating parts can be touched
during the working steps described below.

All subassemblies of the head and safe unit have to be completely closed. If this is not the
case, an alarm sound can be heard during inserting, if this function was activated in the
application.

Notes on operating the head unit

Some of the working steps involved in operating the head unit can only be performed in a specified se-
quence.

When one working step is dependent on another, this fact is pointed out in the description of the individ-
ual working steps.
