TESTING AND REPLACING
Parts that are worn out due to regular wear and tear as well as parts from inadequate maintenance are fre-
quently observed and must be replaced.
This work should only be carried out by a trained professional.
In most cases a test, proceeding the replacement or exchange, does help to narrow in on issues observed.
Acceleration lever „Wig-Wag“ potentiometer testing (#7)
If the results of the following tests are the expected, then there are two possible faults.
A. The controller is defective and must be replaced (very rarely the case)
B. The controllers settings have been manipulated without notice. In this case the original profile settings must
be restored. The profile can be made available by the maufacturer. (Rarely the case; Also see chapter "Control-
ler")
You will need to measure resistence in kilo Ohm. Use fine tip probes (1mm | 1/32"), range 5k
Ω
.
You will find the connectivity and circuitry in the specific scooter's diagrams (chapter "Diagrams")
Disconnect the signal connector (14-pole) from the controller and leave it disconnected.

Pic.10. Wig-Wag Potentiometer Test Position
Measure directly at the Wig-Wag
potentiometer's poles 1(A) and
2(B).
Replace the Wig-Wag potenti-
ometer
Measure directly at the 14-pole
controller's plug terminals, plug
side. Refer to chapter circuitry
for potentiometer's pole identi-
fication. Measure pole 1(A) and
2(B) of the potentiometer.
Controller faulty
• The scooter's profile or
paramteers has been changed
whithout notification
• The controller itself is defec-
tive.
Measure pole 1(A) and 2 (B) at
each connection, starting from
the controller's plug moving for-
wards. While disconnection the
connectors, check for corrosion.
Restore the original profile by
flashing it into the controller.
Replace the controller with a
new unit and flsh it with the
original profile.
Expected Value
Wig-Wag neutral (i)
R2475 to R2525
Wig-Wag pulled left (ii)
R0
Wig-Wag pulled right (iii)
R5K
Possible Issues
a) Scooter creeps while Wig-Wag is in neutral
b) Scooter hesitates in drive
Case
Wig-Wag‘s potentiometer faulty
Solution
Replace the Wig-Wag‘s potentiometer. (A potentiometer adjustment is possi-
ble though not advised.)
