1. INTRODUCTION
The Vega Video is Digicom’s
image concentrator
,
able to manage up to 4 Vega
Wireless Cameras.
The Vega Video receives the images captured by
the
Vega Wireless Cameras
via Wireless LAN at 54 Mbit/s or via Ethernet on the 4 switch ports.
The user is able to manage the 4 cameras simultaneously through the Vega
Video.
The images received by the Vega Wireless Cameras can be saved to a
Hard-
Disk
or memory stick connected to the Vega Video USB port.
The Vega Video utilizes the JPEG image compression technology providing high
quality and small size images.
The user can configure the recording modes according to his needs:
constant
saving
or alarm detection saving when an alarm is detected on the digital inputs.
With an ADSL Internet connection you may also monitor the live status remotely
and check the images recorded to the Hard-Disk. For a more detailed analysis of
the saved images or a different filing, the Hard-Disk can be disconnected from
the Vega Video and connected to any PC.
The display of the images filmed with the camera can be performed via any
device - computer, Macintosh, PDA or advanced mobile phone - provided with a
web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera).
The Vega Video’s integrated CPU is able to perform a variety of tasks automatically:
•
connection and synchronization with the 4 Vega Wireless Cameras;
•
alarm detection on 5 digital inputs;
•
control of the 2 relay outputs;
•
constant saving of the images received by the Vega Wireless Cameras to an external memory (Hard-
disk);
•
saving of the images preceding and following the alarm to an external memory (Hard-disk or memory
stick);
•
LAN connection;
•
Internet connection via GPRS (Vega Video GPRS model);
•
SMS forwarding in case of intrusion detection, power lack and re-establishment (Vega Video GPRS
model).
The two products described in this manual are:
- Vega Video Ethernet
- Vega Video GPRS
The latter has the same features of the Vega Video Ethernet, with the addition of a GSM/GPRS module.
These further functions are better described in the following sections.
