Installing Windows software
Completing Windows 95 printing setup
To print from Windows 95 you need to:
•
Set up network servers, if any.
•
Set up the Colorwriter to accept print jobs from your computer.
•
Configure the port on each Windows 95 computer for the network or
connection type.
Completing the Windows 95 parallel port connection
In the section “Setting up printing with Windows 95” on page 6-18, you installed
the Windows 95 PostScript driver and the Colorwriter PPD. Complete the setup
for parallel port printing as follows:

1.
Shut down your computer by selecting Shut Down from the Start menu.
2.
Turn off the printer.
3.
Attach a Centronics cable from the parallel port of your computer to the parallel
port of the printer.
4.
Turn on the Colorwriter. Press the Menu button, select Printer Setup, and confirm
that ENABLE DIRECT Q or ENABLE PRINT Q is set to Yes.
If the Colorwriter does not have the PCK option, parallel port jobs are sent
directly to the printer without spooling.
5.
Select Network Setup and confirm that the parallel port setting is ENABLE
PARALLEL.
6.
You can leave the default settings for parallel port timeout, and ignoring EOF
character.

7.
Exit the Colorwriter Network Setup and save changes.
The printer reboots.
8.
Turn on your computer, click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click
Printers.
