Installing Windows software
•
Configure the Windows NT system for the AppleTalk connection with the
printer.

1.
From the printer control panel, select Printer Setup. Enable the Direct connection
or the Print queue.

Select Network Setup. Enable AppleTalk and select the preferred AppleTalk zone,
if your network has zones.
Details of these steps may be found in Chapter 4, “Using the Control Panels”.

Exit the Colorwriter Network Setup and Save Changes.

If the AppleTalk protocol is not already loaded on your Windows NT system, load it
now (see page 6-35).

Install the the Colorwriter as a Windows NT PostScript printer as explained on
page 6-26.

On the Windows NT system, in the Main group, double-click the Print Manager
icon.
7.
Click the Colorwriter icon and choose Properties from the Printer menu.
8.
From the Print to pop-up menu, choose Other.
The Print Destinations dialog box is displayed.
9.
Select AppleTalk Printing Devices, and click OK.
You are notified that Windows NT is searching for AppleTalk printers.
The Available AppleTalk Printing Devices window is displayed. For each zone
found, the window displays a multiple-device icon with the zone name beside it.
