provided with the user software. The PSPrinter Installer included with the user
software installs this PPD automatically.
Using the Colorwriter with a Windows computer
To use the Colorwriter with an IBM PC or compatible computer, your hardware
requirements depend on the operating system and the networking software being
used.
The basic configuration includes:
•
An IBM PC or compatible computer with a 386 processor or higher.
•
A mouse that is supported by Windows.
•
MS-DOS version 5.0 or later.
•
Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 3.x, or Windows NT.
•
Appropriate interface cables for your network or printer connection.
To print to the Colorwriter, your PC must be connected to a network file server
running Windows NT or Novell NetWare software. Alternatively, you can print
from a single PC connected to the printer’s parallel port.
If you have installed Windows 95 or Windows NT, there are no additional
requirements for using the Colorwriter. Check the documentation for the
operating system and applications you want to use for recommended
configurations. You will need your system software in order to install the
Colorwriter as a PostScript printer.
Using the Colorwriter over an IPX (Novell) network
In addition to the basic configuration listed above, to print to the Colorwriter
over an IPX (Novell) network, you need:
•
A Novell server running NetWare software version 3.11 or later, that supports
Ethernet Frame type 802.2, 802.3, or Ethernet II.
