Installing Windows software
The
NET_WSCK.INI
is installed to the active Windows directory on your hard disk:
For Windows 95 systems:
c:\windows\
For Windows NT systems:
c:\winnt35\
Running the Colorwriter LSR Manager automatically edits the
NET_WSCK.INI
file,
adding network information about your printer that is necessary for running the
Colorwriter LSR utilities. You can also edit the
NET_WSCK.INI
file by opening it in
a text editor such as Microsoft Notepad.
The
NET_WSCK.INI file
is annotated to explain the entries. After the
Colorwriter LSR Manager edits a
NET_WSCK.INI
, the entries for a single
Colorwriter are similar to one of the following examples:
•
For utilities on IPX networks:
[ConfigServers]
Server1=Colorwriter LSR
[Colorwriter LSR]
IPXAddr=00 00 FF FF 00 C0 85 FF FF FF
Device1=DECcolor
•
For utilities on TCP/IP networks:
[ConfigServers]
Server1=Colorwriter LSR
[Colorwriter LSR]
;IPXAddr=00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Device1=DECcolor
N
OTE
:
DECcolor
is the required device name for this file. Do not change it.
If the Colorwriter LSR utilities connect to the Colorwriter successfully, it means
that the
NET_WSCK.INI
is correctly configured, and you can copy the file to other
workstations that will run the utilities.
