Adjusting the side margin
After installing the optional paper feeder unit, be sure to check and adjust the side
margin. Print a test print from both the printer cassette and the optional paper
feeder unit, and adjust to the width of the left margin of the printer cassette
(approximately 2mm). See “Printing pages on the printer” on page 3-12.
The side margin adjustment dial can be set from 0 to 9. The value on the top is
the currently set value. The dial is set to 5 at the factory. When the dial value is
increased by 1, the left margin increases by approximately 0.4mm (10 dots).
When the dial value is decreased by 1, the left margin is decreased by
approximately 0.4mm.

1.
Make sure the paper feeder unit is attached to the printer.

Load the paper feeder unit’s paper cassette with Letter, A4, Legal, or B5 paper.

Turn on the printer and wait until it is ready to print.
For details, see “Turning the printer on or off ” on page 3-5.

In your application’s Print dialog box, change the paper source to the paper
feeder unit.
