Setting up the printer
POWER SAVER MODE
15/30/45/60/TIMER OFF [30]
Select the number of minutes during which there is no printer activity before the
Colorwriter switches to Power Saver Mode. Full power mode is automatically
restored when the printer receives a network job or when you press the Menu
button and print a page at the printer. The Printer has to warm up before it can
print the job. Select
TIMER OFF
if you do not want to use Power Saver Mode.
LOCAL MESSAGES
YES/NO (ENGLISH) [YES]
This setting only affects you if you have selected a language other than English on
the LCD.
Select
YES
if you want status and printer error messages displayed on your
workstation and on the LCD in the same language (the language you selected
from the
SELECT LANGUAGE
option). Select
NO (ENGLISH)
if you want messages
displayed in your selected language on the LCD, but you want status and printer
error messages displayed on your workstation in English.
Specifying printer information
The Printer Setup menu enables you to set printer-specific information. (Default
values, where applicable, appear in square brackets.)

The first five setup options only appear if you have the PCK option
installed
ENABLE DIRECT
YES/NO [YES]
Use this option to enable or disable users’ ability to connect directly to the
Colorwriter, bypassing the queues. If you select Yes, users can print to the direct
connection and download and delete printer fonts. Note that jobs printed to the
direct connection cannot be reprinted from the Printed queue.

The direct connection must be enabled to download fonts or view a font
list in the Colorwriter LSR Downloader.
