Connect the other end of the cable to the parallel port on the computer.

Turn on the computer and turn on the printer.
Verifying the parallel port connection
Before you begin this procedure, run Setup and verify that the
ENABLE PARALLEL
option is set to
YES
. You should also verify that the Colorwriter can print a test
page from the printer control panel.
Perform the following steps from the DOS prompt of the PC or the PC-based
server that is connected to the Colorwriter’s parallel port.

Insert your disk containing a sample PostScript file in the floppy disk drive of the
PC connected to the Colorwriter parallel port.
The PostScript file must be saved on an MS-DOS formatted disk.

OTE
:
The PostScript file must begin with a percentage sign followed by an
exclamation point (%!); otherwise, it will be treated as a text file.

From the DOS prompt on the host PC, type:
print a:filename.ps lpt1:
The floppy disk drive may be assigned as drive

on some computers.
If the Colorwriter does not print the file but does print a test page from the
printer control panel:

Check the parallel port cable connections
•
Verify that Setup options are set correctly
