caution
To avoid damage to the printer, be
extremely careful when vacuuming and
dusting around the hammer bank and
surrounding areas.

Power off the printer and
unplug the power cord.

Unload the paper supply
(page 30).

Remove the ribbon
(step 2, page 33).

Using a soft-bristled,
non-metallic brush, remove
dust particles from the paper
path, ribbon guides, and
ribbon path. (Refer to the
ribbon path diagram on the
shuttle cover.)

Brush and vacuum
accumulated dust or residue,
especially in the tractor and
base pan areas, and around
the exterior of the hammer
bank.
