Chapter 2: Card Installation
Shipment Inspection
The following items are included in shipment of the TDM400P:
TDM400P card
A combination of FXO and/or FXS modules
Port Identification label
User’s manual
Module Identification
The TDM400P card ships with FXO and/or FXS modules. These are
identified by their color. Take a moment to identify which modules were
shipped with your card.
FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) modules are Red
FXS (Foreign Exchange Station) modules are Green
See Figure 2 on page 18 for an example of the card shown with two of
each module.
Port Identification
Each card consists of four RJ11 ports located on the bracket. Each port
correlates to a module slot (containing the FXO or FXS modules). The
ports are numbered in sequence from one to four. The top port is Port 1
and the bottom port is Port 4. See Figure 2 on page 18 for appropriate
identification of these ports.
Note:
It is important to identify the type and location of your
TDM400P modules. You will need this information during the
Asterisk configuration.
