OPTIFLAME ELECTRIC FIREPLACE
If the fireplace was operating prior to servicing allow at least 10 minutes for light
bulbs and heating elements to cool off to avoid accidental burning of skin.
Disconnect circuit power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to
reduce the risk of electric shock or damage to persons.
TO REPLACE REMOTE CONTROL CIRCUIT BOARD
1. Open the steel curtains (remove glass doors if applicable).
2. Remove the log grate retaining screws and remove the log grate.
3. Pull the rear edge of the log set forward by grasping the ember bed by the
sides (handle the log set only by the ember bed and not the logs) and
pulling firmly until the rear tab pops out from under the back ledge, then lift
out.
4. Locate and remove the screw under the glass on the same side as the
switches.
5. Reach into the fireplace opening, remove the screw and the inner access
plate.
6. Locate the cover plate by the switches and remove the mounting screws.
7. Remove the cover plate.
8. Reach hand into the opening and locate the wiring for the red heat
indicator lights.
9. Pull the red heat indicator lights out through the bottom of the mounting
plate noting their original locations.
10. Reach hand into the opening and locate the heater selection switch.
11. Depress the retainer clips on the rear both of the switches and push the
switches up to release them from the mounting plate.
12. Disconnect the switch wiring connections noting their original locations.
13. Locate the remote control circuit board mounted to the back of the unit
and remove the wiring connections noting their original locations.
14. Depress the ends of the four plastic mounting posts with pliers.
15. Remove the remote control circuit board from the unit.
