13.3 Lower the boom to its lowermost position (over a distance of 2 m). The lowering
should take about 20 seconds. As necessary, adjust it with the trimmer TR11.
13.
Lowering the articulated arms (LCB control mode)
Drive the “articulated arms down” movement and simultaneously adjust the intensity of
current using the adjustable resistor TR12 to I
lower
=1250 mA (or 100 mA lower than setting
in 10.5). Lift the articulated arms to their highest position. Lower them all the way down
and measure the time. The time should be 20 seconds. As necessary, adjust it with the
trimmer TR12.
14.
Platform levelling, (LCB control mode,
the power unit is not running)
Drive the platform levelling from LCB
control centre. Simultaneously set the
basic adjustment by setting the intensity of
the current with TR9 to 700 mA. Drive the
platform levelling down and measure the
time. The time should be 35-40 seconds.
As necessary, adjust it with adjustment
screw A.
B
A
15.
Platform turning (UCB control mode)
Adjust the instensity of the current with
TR13 to 800 mA.
Set the basic adjustment by turning the
adjustment screw B to closed position
(extreme position clockwise). After that, turn
it 1/2 round counter-clockwise. Drive the
platform turning clockwise from side to side
and measure the time. The time should be
14-16 seconds.
16.
Adjusting the movement speed from UCB panel (UCB control mode, the power unit
is not running)
Direct an assistant to drive the telescope in at full speed with the control lever at UCB
station. Simultaneously adjust the intensity of current with control card screw 1 to 1350
mA (or the same setting as in 10.5)
17.
Check the movement speeds from UCB panel
Drive all the movements from the UCB control centre and check that they work properly.
Check that boom and articulated arms lowering speeds are as adjusted in steps 13 and
14.
18. Disconnect the meter. Reconnect the lead 523.
